Clinical Study

*Our IRB approved clinical study examined 235 pregnant women living across the US, and compared blood levels of nutrients by the type of prenatal they were taking. Women taking the Needed Prenatal Multivitamin Pro had significantly higher blood levels of key nutrients for pregnancy including Vitamin D, Vitamin B6, Riboflavin, Vitamin B12, Vitamin K2, and Selenium, compared to the women taking the standard prenatal.

Our results indicate that the Standard Prenatal group had a significantly higher percentage of women falling below sufficient ranges for blood levels of Vitamin D, Vitamin B6, Selenium, and Zinc, compared to women taking the Needed Prenatal Multivitamin Pro. This study contributes to the growing body of evidence to suggest that the standard prenatal vitamin is not cutting it.

When should I start taking the Prenatal Multi?

Take it before, during, after pregnancy — and even beyond — for the nourishment you need to feel your best and avoid depletion, and to give your baby everything their body needs to thrive from the very start. We like to stress the importance of preconception nutritional preparation and postpartum recovery, so this product is for you even if you are a few years away from having kids or a few years postpartum.
Why do the amounts of some of the nutrients in Prenatal Multi exceed the percent Daily Value?

We designed our Prenatal Multi to help you thrive, not just survive. Daily Values are set off of the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs) which most often do not offer enough nutritional value for pregnant and nursing women. Read our journal article on the topic to learn more.
Is your Prenatal Multi vegan, allergen free, and Non-GMO?

Our Prenatal Multi is vegetarian and non-GMO. Free of eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nut allergens, wheat, and gluten.
Everything makes me nauseous while I am pregnant, will your product work for me?

Many pregnant mothers find it helpful to take smaller doses throughout the day with meals (i.e. 3 with breakfast, 3 with lunch, 2 with dinner). Do Needed Prenatal Multivitamins contain Methylated Folate?

Yes. Needed’s Prenatal Multivitamins contain include Optifolin+®, a bioavailable, fully bioactive methylfolate (L-5-MTHF) enriched with choline providing superior benefits for healthy methylation, setting it apart from other forms of methylfolate. Other forms of methylfolate utilize salts, such as calcium or glucosamine salts, which need to be present to support the stability of methylfolate but do not enable this nutritionally synergistic benefit.

Methylated folate and folic acid are two different forms of folate. 5-MTHF is the active form that the body can directly use, while folic acid is a synthetic form that must be converted before it becomes active. We choose methylated folate because it is the form naturally used by the body and is a well-studied, bioavailable source that supports healthy folate status.

    The best prenatal

    After doing lots of research it was discouraging to read how many prenatals don't have the proper nutrients for mom/baby to thrive. That was until I found NEEDED.     I compared all the popular prenatal vitamin brands (Ritual, FullWell, Needed, etc) before choosing this one. Why I love Needed's is that you're getting all the nutrients you need and nothing you don't. Plus, I like that it doesn't include iron, as that is something that everyone needs different amounts of. I've been taking these prenatals every day for 3 months to prepare my body for conception, and not even one month in, I noticed my energy levels were higher. I used to rely on a cup of coffee in the afternoon, but these vitamins carried me through the day with no crashing. 8 pills is a lot, and is something I was nervous about since I'm not a great pill taker, but I take 4 with breakfast and 4 with lunch and have had no issues. I'm hoping to conceive soon and feel confident that these supplements (along with nutrition, exercise, sleep, hydration, etc.) have adequately prepared my body. 10/10 recommend!
