Why Biomicronized™ Creatine Monohydrate

Creatine monohydrate is the most-researched form of creatine, backing 95% of creatine studies. But many creatines still have a poor product experience: gritty, unpleasant to take, and cause GI discomfort.

Ours is biomicronized™ into smaller particles, so it dissolves completely (no sludge, no gritty texture) and is easier to digest, without bloating.*

Why Creatine, and Why for Women

Creatine is one of the most-studied supplements in the world, and one of the least understood for women. Your body makes it naturally and stores it in your muscles and brain, where it fuels ATP, the energy molecule your cells run on. More creatine means more fuel for your muscles, mind, and metabolism.

Women tend to run low on creatine for three reasons: we produce 70–80% of what men do, eat less of it, and estrogen shapes how our bodies use it. So every hormonal shift changes what we need, and daily creatine closes that gap.

With 600+ clinical studies and 30+ years of research behind it, the science is settled. We know it's nutrition we need. The only question is whether women are getting enough.

How to Use

Mix one scoop (1.75 tsp) with 6 to 8 oz into a beverage (cold or warm) until fully dissolved. Consume daily within 30 minutes of mixing for best results.

Who Is It For

Cycle support · Pregnancy · Postpartum · Women's Health · Perimenopause

During Pregnancy: Your body's demand for creatine rises sharply during pregnancy to help fuel energy and growth for you and your baby.* Research is still emerging, so consult your healthcare provider before starting supplementation.

During Breastfeeding: Creatine is already a natural part of breastmilk, supporting your baby's energy needs from day one* — but it's not yet known how much supplemental creatine transfers into milk, especially in the first 6 months. Consult your healthcare provider before starting supplementation while breastfeeding.

Women produce 70–80% of the creatine that men do.

Yet women need just as much creatine for muscle, brain, and everyday energy* (5g daily). Estrogen directly shapes how your body uses what you have across your cycle and lifespan.

Daily supplementation closes the gap.

Made to Support Women's Health

Cycle Support
Estrogen and progesterone shift how your body uses creatine, so your needs shift every month. Daily creatine fills that gap, keeping your energy and strength steady through every phase of your cycle.*

Perimenopause Support
As estrogen falls, two systems take the hit. Muscle loss speeds up and muscle powers your metabolism. Your brain's main energy system (glucose use) also becomes less efficient, which can show up as fog, mood swings, and slow recall. Daily creatine supports both, helping you hold onto the muscle you've built and fueling your brain when estrogen can't.*

Questions? We have answers.

Thoughtful inquiry is needed.

What is creatine?

Creatine Monohydrate is one of the most studied compounds in human performance, and one of the least understood in women's health. Your body makes it naturally from amino acids and stores it in your muscles and brain, where it fuels ATP, the energy currency your cells run on.

It's also one of the most-researched ingredients in the supplement world: more than 600 clinical studies, over 12,800 participants, and 30+ years of data.

Why Creatine for Women?

Women produce 70 to 80% of the creatine men do, yet carry metabolic demands that are just as high, often higher. Hormonal shifts across the menstrual cycle, the energy demands of pregnancy and fetal development, and the accelerated muscle and bone loss of perimenopause all draw on the same ATP-dependent systems creatine supports. As estrogen declines, muscle strength, cognitive function, and cellular energy are among the first things affected. That's exactly where creatine can help.

Does creatine make you gain weight?

Research shows any early shift on the scale is likely a result of increased cellular hydration (i.e., “water weight”), which can show favorable outcomes for hydration.

Should I take Creatine daily?

Yes, consistency drives results. A daily 5g dose works by building up in your body over time — supporting both daily benefits and long-term changes. We recommend adding to routines you already have like mixing  it in your morning coffee, combining it with your Hydration support.

What time of day should I take it?

Whenever it's easiest to remember. Creatine works by building up in your system over time, so consistency matters far more than timing it around meals or workouts.

Is this NSF Certified for Sport®?

Yes! Women’s Creatine is NSF Certified for Sport® - a non-negotiable for Needed. This means it is tested for more than 290+ banned substances and certified for quality and safety.

Is Needed’s Women's Creatine Vegan and Non-GMO?

Yes, Women's Creatine is produced in an independently-certified cGMP facility. Vegan and non-GMO. Made without the 9 major allergens and gluten.

Can you take Creatine while Pregnant or breastfeeding?

Your body's demand for creatine rises sharply during pregnancy. Your uterus, placenta, and growing baby all rely on it for energy and growth* — but most pregnant women aren't getting nearly enough through food alone. Preclinical studies suggest creatine may help support the developing brain in utero*, and early human research points to a meaningful role for creatine in healthy pregnancies. Research into creatine and perinatal stages is an active area of interest and we'll update our guidance as data emerges.

That demand doesn't stop at delivery: breastfeeding also draws on the body's creatine stores to support milk production and your baby's continued growth.* Creatine is already a natural, functional part of breastmilk, supplying a meaningful share of your baby's daily creatine needs from day one*. Mechanistic insights suggest creatine transferred through breastmilk may help support the infant's developing brain*, and while human trials are still catching up, the early signal is promising.

What we don't yet know is whether maternal supplementation changes how much creatine transfers into breastmilk, or what that might mean for a nursing infant — especially in the first six months, when infants are most dependent on human milk.

Because this data gap exists, our guidance is to consult your healthcare provider before starting creatine supplementation while pregnant or breastfeeding. Research into creatine and perinatal stages, including lactation, is an active area of interest and we'll update our guidance as data emerges.

    Better than other creatines

I was given this creatine to try by a friend. I wasn't expecting it to be any different than other creatines I'd tried in the past, but I was happily surprised! This creatine has a finer texture, mixes much more easily, and dissolves more fully. No gritty texture! This will definitely be my creatine brand moving forward!

    Pleasantly surprised

Didn’t know what to expect with taking creatine and have been pleasantly surprised by how easily this blends into my electrolyte drink and is tasteless. It has no texture at all. I’ve read about benefits of using creatine in the areas of muscle mass, cognition and energy levels so I’m excited to see how continued use reflects those benefits. I’m excited that Needed has created this product with their excellent track record of quality and reliability.
